 MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN BEFORE

Mave Walsh.  Fletcher McNally.  A couple I can actually see ending up together.  I received an Advanced Readers copy of More Beautiful Than Before and let me tell you, it was a fast captivating book.  These characters are real people.  Of course, they do not walk the earth like you and I but if this was based on a true story I'd believe it.  Molly McCarthy crafted this book with authenticity at the core.

McCarthy covers MANY important topics that most would shy away from. Domestic violence for instance.  There is no good way to handle leaving a threatening environment especially if kids are involved. There are many victims who stay out of fear.  Fear of losing their kids, fear of anyone being hurt, and some are just fearful.  McCarthy shows why victims have every right to be fearful but, she goes on to show how life can turn out if they take the leap.  There are many victims of domestic violence who are frightened to leave and when they do, they worry they will not be able to have a fresh start.  McCarthy proves that starting over is attainable.

Having a strong support system is important when making the choice to restart your life.  Luckily Mave has an incredible friend who supports her and her choices.  Mave worries about others' opinions of her, likely because her every move was critiqued in her previous relationship.  However, as she opens up and adjusts to her new life she learns to make choices that make her and her kids happy.

Single parents often struggle with dating because they do not want to confuse their children with temporary relationships. In this story, you watch a partner work with children while respecting the boundaries and rules set in place.

Overall, More Beautiful Than Before is a story about resilience and overcoming obstacles, staying true to who you are, and allowing yourself to be happy.  Click here if you are interested in purchasing a copy.
